The Indonesian police say they have arrested four suspected militants in a raid on an Islamist training camp in the province of Aceh.
However, dozens of suspects managed to escape into the jungle even though the authorities deployed hundreds of heavily armed police officers. At the camp, police seized weapons, propaganda material and Malaysian military uniforms.
In a separate development, Mohammad Jibriel Abdul Rahman has gone on trial in the capital, Jakarta, because of his alleged involvement in bomb attacks on the Ritz-Carlton and JW Marriott hotels in which 11 people were killed in July of last year. He is accused of raising money in Saudi Arabia to finance the attacks. The public prosecutor says he intended to carry out the biggest attacks since the 9/11 attacks in the US in 2001.
