Climate change and Honduras' political crisis are top of the agenda at the Ibero-American summit. The two-day meeting of Spanish and Portuguese-language countries is taking place in the resort of Estoril near Portugal's capital Lisbon.
In his opening address, Portuguese Prime Minister José Sócrates told delegates that all man's knowledge and wisdom was needed to combat climate change. Honduras is not officially on the agenda, but the issue will definitely be covered by the conference.
Most Latin American countries are refusing to recognise Porfirio Lobo as the winner of Sunday's presidential election in Honduras. They say the poll was illegal and argue the ousted president, Manuel Zelaya, is still the country's legitimate leader. Some Latin American countries, such as Peru and Panama, have accepted Sunday's election outcome.
