Dutch Health Minister Ab Klink has ordered 34 million vaccine doses against swine flu.
The amount is enough to vaccinate each person in the Netherlands twice, if scientists ever were to make such a recommendation. Minister Klink, who already had an option on the vaccine, today signed contracts with a number of companies. The doses should be ready by the end of the year at the latest. Last week the World Health Organisation moved to classify the H1NI influenza as a pandemic. The number of infections in the Netherlands now stands at 87.
