Honduras regime takes Brazil to the ICC

Published on 29 October 2009 - 11:31am
More about:

The regime in Honduras has registered a complaint against Brazil with the International Criminal Court in The Hague.

Deposed Honduran President Manuel Zelaya has been sheltering since September in the Brazilian embassy in Honduras' capital Tegucigalpa. The de facto leaders of Honduras argue a diplomatic mission should not be used by Mr Zelaya to pursue domestic politics.

A high-level diplomatic mission from the United States is in Honduras in an attempt to bring President Zelaya and the de facto Honduran leader Roberto Micheletti back to the negotiating table. Talks between the two sides stalled last week. The US delegation is being led by Assistant Secretary of State Tom Shannon.

I think you mean the International Court of JUSTICE. The ICC is for perpetrators of crimes against humanity and the like. The ICJ or World Court is where disputes are settled between states.
