More about:

US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton has received in New York the Four Freedoms Award. During a ceremony attended by Dutch Crown Prince Willem-Alexander and Princess Máxima, Foreign Minister Maxime Verhagen praised Mrs Clinton as "a true defender of justice and human rights".

The prize is awarded by the Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt Institute, which aims preserve the freedom ideals of US President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. As Roosevelt's ancestors came from Zeeland, the award ceremony is held every other year in the Dutch town of Middelburg.
