The Health Council of the Netherlands and the National Institute for Public Health have advised Minister Ab Klink to only vaccinate people in high risk groups against Mexican flu.
Those at high risk of developing serious complications from the virus include the over-60s and women who are more than three months pregnant, but only if they have an increased susceptibility to the illness. The two health bodies also advise vaccinating health workers, who are likely to come into direct contact with flu patients.
