Haitian President René Préval has called on his compatriots to “dry their tears” and rebuild their country. He said “Haiti will not die.”
On Friday, Haitians observed a day of national mourning for the more than 230,000 people who died as a result of the earthquake, which struck precisely a month ago. A Catholic bishop and a Voodoo priest attended the ceremony.
A remembrance ceremony was held near the devastated presidential palace in the capital Port-au-Prince. Haitians wore either black or white as a sign of respect for the deceased. Ceremonies were held throughout the country, one of them at the site where tens of thousands are buried in mass graves.
Huge television screens broadcast the ceremony in the tent camps housing the more than 1.2 million people who have lost their homes. They face difficult times ahead as Haiti's rainy season is about to start.

I know it's hard to move on after the tragedy that happened in Haiti. It's one of the most unforgettable events in history. There are many lives that were been taken away.Life is indeed so short, that's why we need to live life to the fullest.I am really so piteous about what happened to the adopted children of Renee Bowman.Just imagine that she was the one who killed her daughters and placed their bodies inside the freezer. What an insane act! Well, Renee Bowman won't be passing go, won't be collecting anything, and I hope she gets the chair.I hope that she should suffer like what she did to those poor little children. She killed her children and hung their corpses in the freezer – I don't understand exactly how a person can even begin to contemplate doing that. She won’t have to worry about debt survival or payday loans now – she's only going to have to worry about either getting the death penalty or getting shanked in the showers. (I don't know if DC has capital punishment, or if that automatically becomes a federal offense.) It's in the courts' hands now, but…that is a good thing, because mob justice isn't a good idea either.
When Preval told the country to "dry its tears" let me tell you there are plenty of people who didn't cry, didn't have time to cry. Forced under the circumstances to cope, many people didn't have time for crying, mourning and grieving...so "dry your tears" is not at all appropriate to the people of the country.
Survivors? Yep just like cockroaches they are.
"A Catholic bishop and a Voodoo priest attended the ceremony.".......Catholic priest and a Voodoo priest are basicly the same, aren't they? { "Haitian President René Préval has called on his compatriots to “dry their tears” and rebuild their country. He said “Haiti will not die.”......He is right! The Haitians will survive because they are survivors.
