Haitian girl rescued after 15 days

Published on 28 January 2010 - 9:40am

Rescue workers have rescued a 16-year-old girl who spent 15 days under the rubble of a house near the College St Gérard in the Haitian capital Port-au-Prince.

Darlene Etienne was dehydrated and sustained an injury to her leg. She has been taken to a French field hospital. Darlene had been trapped in the bathroom of the house and survived by drinking water from the bath. A French rescue worker said it was a miracle that somebody had been found alive so many days after the earthquake struck.
