H1N1 virus postpones French rugby matches

Published on 28 August 2009 - 3:07pm
More about:

In France, two matches in a rugby union championship have been postponed after six players from the Castres club were diagnosed with Mexican flu.

Castres' match against Montauban today and the midweek match against Albi on Wednesday will be played at a later date. It's the first time any professional sports fixture or event in France has been cancelled because of the H1N1 virus.

There are now ten reported cases of the virus in French rugby. Three Stade Francais players and another with Bayonne were diagnosed with Mexican flu earlier this week.
