The number of people infected with the Influenza A (H1N1) virus has the past week risen slightly.
According to data published by the National Institute of Public Health and the Environment (RIVM), an average 6.9 out of 10,000 people last week went to the doctor with flu symptoms. In addition, 24 people were hospitalised last week to be treated for Influenza A. Since the H1N1 first hit the country in April, four people have died of the disease. All of them were suffering from other disease that made them more vulnerable to the virus. Until 14 October, 141 were hospitalised with H1N1 symptoms. The RIVM has not revealed how many of those hospitalised have since been released.
