New Zealander Greg Henderson has won the third leg of the prologue of La Vuelta, the Tour of Spain which is being held in the Netherlands.
Today’s race began in the eastern city of Zutphen and ended in Venlo in the southern province of Limburg. Henderson of Team Colombia was the fastest in the mass sprint. Swiss cyclist Fabian Cancellara remains allround leader followed by Henderson six seconds behind him. The best Dutchman is Jens Mouris in sixth place, 14 seconds behind Cancellara. Fellow Dutchman Lars Boom, who for a long while was among the leaders of the race, has moved up to seventh place.
La Vuelta was hosted at the weekend in the northern province of Drenthe. On Tuesday the major Spanish cycling event leaves the Netherlands and travels to the Belgian city of Liège.
