In the German state of Saarland, the Christian democrats, liberals and Greens plan to form a coalition. It is the first time these political parties have joined in a coalition.
The German press have dubbed it the "Jamaica" coalition after the colours of the Jamaican flag.
Germans often refer to political parties by their colour. The Christian Democratic Union is black, the FDP is yellow, and the Greens are obviously green. The members of the parties involved still have to vote on the decision.
Two months after the elections, the state of Brandenburg has come closer to forming a left-wing coalition between Die Linke ("The Left") party and the SPD, which could be Germany's first red-red coalition.
