A former member of the German RAF terrorist group has been released pending an investigation.
Verena Becker, 57, was arrested in August on suspicion of involvement in the murder of a German public prosecutor in 1977. The arrest came after investigators found DNA traces on the letter in which the murder of Siegfried Buback was claimed. The court in Karlsruhe says she is not suspected of carrying out the murder and can be freed. Ms Becker was sentenced to life in 1977 on a number of other charges but received a presidential pardon in 1989.
