Published on 17 June 2009 - 7:42pm
More about:

In Germany, an estimated 100,000 schoolchildren, university students and teachers took to the streets on Wednesday to protest against the country’s education system.

Demonstrations took place in at least 70 separate locations.

The protestors say more money needs to be made available for education. They also disagree with the rising costs of study, in particular with the recent introduction of tuition fees.

The US has had tuition fees for years and years. Some institutions are more expensive than others. Here in Europe, the fact is the age of free everything is over. Everyone must pay something to get something. Period.
