The Orthodox Christian party SGP wants the cabinet to take action against protests during church services.
On Sunday gay activists held a demonstration in St John's Cathedral in Den Bosch in protest against a church policy to refuse homosexuals Holy Communion. Gay rights organisations have announced further protests in Roman Catholic churches for the coming weeks.
SGP MP Kees van der Staaij has labelled the protests "Criminal acts" and wants to know whether the Public Prosecutors' Office intends to take action on the basis of a law in the penal code which forbids disturbance of a church service. The offence carries a maximum sentence of two months in prison or a fine.
