A car bomb attack in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul has left four people dead and more than 40 injured. The bomb went off in a market in an area largely inhabited by members of the Shabak ethnic minority, a Kurdish-speaking Shi'ite group.
Mosul and surrounding Nineveh province, is inhabited by numerous ethnic and religious groups and is seen as one of the centres of insurgent activity in Iraq. On Thursday, more than 30 people were killed in a double bomb attack in Tal Afar, near Mosul.
A double bomb attack in the centre of Baghdad has killed two people. Eleven people were killed when the bombs went off inin a billiards cafe.
