In London, the former Bosnian president Ejup Ganic has been released after an anonymous friend paid 330,000 euros for his bail. Mr Ganic does have to stay at an address which has been disclosed to the court.
The former Bosnian leader was arrested at Heathrow Airport last week at the request of the Serb authorities.
Serbia has requested his extradition. Mr Ganic is accused of being responsible for the killing of wounded soldiers of the Yugoslavian People’s Army in May 1992, who were withdrawing at the time. The Geneva Convention of human rights forbids the killing of wounded soldiers.
After his arrest, thousands of Bosnians demonstrated outside British and Serbian embassies in the Bosnian capital Sarajevo for his release.
Mr Ganic is due to appear in court in London on 13 April.
