It’s a strange but regularly recurring phenomenon: food and drink used as a political statement.

In early November, a Japanese MP drank a glass of radioactive water from Fukushima to show that the health risks were minimal. He was not the first to take a sip or a bite of a controversial product in front of the press. For those who fancy something tasty and also want to make a statement, we present the Food For Thought menu of politically sensitive products.
