A four-day strike called by British Airways cabin crews has left hundreds of passengers stranded after the airline was forced to cancel dozens of flights.
So far, 93 flights have been cancelled at London's Heathrow airport alone but BA says that about 70 percent of long-haul flights and up to 55 percent of short-haul flights were operating despite the strike.
The airline says this week's strike has not affected as many travellers as last weekend's three-day work stoppage and more than 75 percent of passengers will still be able to travel on a BA flight.
However, the union disputes the claim and says that many long-haul flights are leaving with about 30 percent fewer passengers on board.
It appears that many people changed their bookings and BA also rented aircraft belonging to rival companies in order to transport as many passengers as possible. The four-day walkout over pay and conditions began on Saturday evening.
