At least five Afghan civilians and one soldier have been killed in a suicide bomb attack on a NATO convoy.
The suicide bomber rammed the convoy with a car packed with explosives. Responsibility for the attack, which took place in the southern province of Kandahar, has been claimed by the Taliban.
Three soldiers of the International Security Assistance Force were killed in fighting today; two in west Afghanistan and one in the south.
The insurgents are probably also responsible for an attack in northwest Pakistan in which Taliban fighters opened fire on a convoy of fuel tankers destined for NATO forces in Afghanistan. One person was injured and one tanker caught fire.
