The European Parliament has approved the new European Commission by 477 votes to 237.
The 26 new European commissioners will be able to start work on Wednesday. José Manuel Barroso, a former Portuguese prime minister, will lead the commission for another five years.
MEPs had questioned the members of the new commission closely. The Bulgarian candidate for the post of humanitarian aid commissioner dropped out of the running following intense pressure. She was replaced by Kristalina Georgieva, vice president of the World Bank.
