Eurostar train services will be limited until Sunday after another Eurostar train broke down in the Channel Tunnel on Thursday.
Only four trains will leave Paris for London and vice versa as the wintry weather is set to continue over the weekend. Snow on the train and the large temperature differences inside and outside the tunnel are thought to have caused the problems.
Eurostar will not sell any tickets on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Passengers who were planning to travel in the next few days are advised to seek alternative arrangements.
On Thursday morning a Eurostar train carrying 240 passengers remained underground for two hours after a sign failure.
Around 2000 people were trapped in the tunnel for 16 hours in the weekend before Christmas. The operation to evacuate them was far from smooth.
As a result of the pre-Christmas break-down tens of thousands of passengers were forced to make alternative arrangements as all cross-channel services were suspended for three days.
Heavy snow has seriously hampered travel in Great Britain this week.
