The winter weather is still causing problems in some parts of Europe.
In Italy, hundreds of troops have been deployed to clear the streets of the city of Milan. In the north of the country, thousands of train travellers have been stranded by severe snowstorms. Hundreds of domestic flights have been scrapped.
In Germany, flights to and from the city of Frankfurt have been resumed. However, these are still subject to cancellations and travellers should be prepared for delays. Over 3000 passengers spent Monday night at the city’s airport, while another 5000 were put up in hotels.
Thousands of passengers have been stranded at the international airports of Madrid, Paris and Rome.
Although most airports in the United Kingdom have been reopened, many flights are still subject to delay and cancellation. The icy cold and heavy snowfall has forced the easyJet airline to cancel more than 150 flights scheduled for Tuesday. British Airways and Ryanair have also cancelled many of their flights.
