Europ's air traffic problems are not over yet. In the wake of the end of the Lufthansa pilot strike on Monday, air traffic controllers in France have announced they are to stop work until Saturday in protest at the scrapping of jobs. A number of flights have already been cancelled.
The French announcement comes one day after British Airways cabin personnel also announced their intention to strike. However, the BA employees have not said when they will stop work. Air traffic controllers in Greece are to stop work on Wednesday as part of a national protest against planned government cuts.
The Lufthansa strike – prompted by proposed job cuts – ended when the German airline company and the pilots’ union agreed to hold further talks. The pilots also agreed to go back to work. The strike led to the cancellation of some 900 Lufthansa flights on Monday.
