Euro banknote forgers arrested

Published on 14 August 2009 - 8:45am
More about:

Two Amsterdam men have been arrested on suspicion of forgery, police in The Hague have said.

The men, aged 22 and 25, are thought to have been paying in forged 50 euro notes for a long time. They will remain in custody for the next 90 days. One of the men has confessed.

The case came to light with the arrest of two other men, earlier this year in the central town of Gouda. They were on a spending spree, using false 50 euro notes to pay for their shopping.
