The EU is blaming Iran and Iran is blaming the EU. Either way, an EU delegation will not travel to Tehran as planned.
A group of European lawmakers are accusing Iran of postponing an EU parliamentary delegation visit to the country, which was planned later this month. The delegation was to visit Iran from 8 to 11 January, meeting with Iranian MPs, as well as members of the country's political opposition.
Today, that trip was postponed, but it's unclear why. The EU delegation is pointing the finger at Tehran, saying the Islamic Republic decided at the last minute that there was not enough time to prepare for the visit. Tehran has said that the EU delegation decided to postpone the trip. This is all against the backdrop of continued political and social unrest in Iran, following last year's disputed presidential election and the death of opposition leader Grand Ayatollah Hussein-Ali Montazeri.

This is great post.I would like to say Iran is going through a major crackdown on internal dissent; it might be a bit uncomfortable to do it while the good folks of the EU commission are visiting....
