Egypt wins Africa Cup

Published on 31 January 2010 - 11:10pm
More about:

The Egyptian team has won the Africa Cup football tournament.

Egypt beat Ghana 1-0 in the Angolan capital Luanda. Reserve player Mohamed 'Gedo' Nagui scored for the 'Pharaohs' in the 84th minute. This is the third time in a row that Egypt have won the Africa Cup. However, Egypt have failed to qualify for the World Championships in South Africa later this year, but Ghana (the 'Black Stars') did. Nigeria (the 'Super Eagles') came third after their 1-0 victory over Algeria.
