A trial in The Hague with a child abuse hotline has brought to light hundreds of cases.
Most warnings came from doctors, nurses and ambulance staff. All of them had received special training to detect warning signals such as children with wounds, parents with drug or alcohol problems or extremely filthy homes. The trial was conducted in the region of The Hague. Similar trials have recently been started in Utrecht, Rotterdam and Gouda.
