Dutch car maker Spyker has completed the purchase of Swedish car maker Saab from General Motors. The deal was closed on Tuesday in Stockholm.
Saab's future was in doubt throughout 2009. Its United States owner, which was embroiled in bankruptcy proceedings, tried to sell off the ailing company. Then Spyker stepped in with an offer of 75 million euros. The Swedish government is standing guarantor for a loan of 400 million euros to complete the deal.
