A former director of the Dutch Muslim public service broadcaster (NMO) and three others have been arrested on suspicion of fraud. Frank William, his son, daughter-in-law and a film director are alleged to have misused public money.
Mr William is suspected of forgery, tax evasion and accepting bribes from the film director in exchange for commissions. His son and daughter-in-law are accused of forgery. The four are alleged to have defrauded the authorities to the tune of 600,000 euros.
Mr William was dismissed by the NMO's board two years ago. The NMO has decided to close down in September 2010.
