Dutch Muslim TV recognises Ahmadiyya sect

Published on 17 December 2009 - 2:03pm
More about:

A Dutch Muslim broadcasting company which applied for airtime has recognised the Ahmadiyya sect as a major current in Islam. Such a recognition is unique in the world.

Ahmadiyya is a sectarian movement within Islam which is not recognised as Islamic by the main institutions of orthodox Islam. Many Dutchmen of Surinamese origin belong to Ahmadiyya.

Its recognition by the aspiring broadcaster (SMO) was revealed in a leaked e-mail message of which Radio Netherlands Worldwide possesses a copy. In the message SMO expresses its willingness to share its hoped-for broadcasting licence with another company, provided that it too recognises Ahmadiyya.

The Dutch public radio and tv system allots time to one religious broadcaster per denomination. The previous Muslim licence holder is to cease transmissions after internal strife between groups representing differing approaches to Islam.

SMO is one of five broadcasters having applied for the Islamic airtime slots. It is expected that the Dutch broadcasting authorities will announce next week which of them will be licensed and hence subsidised.

Great news. Finally Dutch authorities have reognized the most vibrant group of Muslims who essentially carry the motto "Love for All, Hatred for None are accpted as a moderate Muslim group. I cherish this step of Dutch authorities and it shows the human side of the government. Bravo. I wish this radio license be awarded to the seeker of this license.

As an Ahmadi Muslim, I applaud SMO's recognition of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. It's high time that mainstream Muslims abandon "takfeer", or the practice of declaring Muslims as non-Muslim. It's high time we begin discussing our differences rationally, as opposed to taking them to the streets with violent action. It's high time we have a balanced and constructive look into the many faces of Islam, a view that would be incomplete without discussion of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.

The Ahmadiyya belief that Jesus died on Earth- like every other Prophet including Muhammad (peace be upon him) - and spiritually ascended to heaven sounds less preposterous to me than orthodox Muslim thinking that Jesus ascended physically to heaven where he resides for all time to return again in his same physical form over 2000 years later!

Please read this & see what Ahmadiya believe, cannot not be serious at all. They even believe that Jesus died in Kasmir, , much more beliefs that is so different from Islam.
Dutch recognizing that sect or movement is a BIG JOKE & ignorancy

It is a great pleasure to learn that SMO has recognized Ahamadiyya Muslim Community to represent the “True Peaceful Teachings of Islam”. Mainstream Muslims may complain about this great decision but with the help of Allah/GOD you will find over time that Ahmadiyya Muslims are the only sect who preach and practice the Real Beauties of Islam that had been hijacked by hard-line Mainstream Muslims.
Now the world, at large, would have a chance to learn for the first time what it means, “When it is said Islam means peace”? It will be demonstrated through practical examples and pure teachings that it really means “peace”.
Ahmadiyya Muslim have been against the violent jihad of killing others, as preached by Sunni and Shiite, for over 120 years and believe that best kind of jihad is striving in the remembrance of Allah and struggling for the greater benefit of humanity. This is one of the reasons why Mainstream consider Ahmadiyya as Non-Muslims.
Among other humanitarian work under the name: www.humanityfirst.org we have built over 500 schools and more than 30 hospitals for the benefit of mankind.

May Allah bless this endeavor. I find it highly significant that the Muslim group that is in line for access to airtime is the only one not embroiled in sectarianistic squabbles with other Muslim groups. If the ahmadiyya Community is granted access to present the teachings of Islam, you will see a marked improvement in the image of Islam in the Netherlands, as the real Islam will be presented to the mainstream audience. If anyone wishes to know what separates Ahmadiyya Islam from the other sects that are busy fighting amongst themselves, I invite readers to check out http://www.alislam.org
