Dutch insurer SNS recovers in third quarter

Published on 10 November 2009 - 11:25am
More about:

Dutch banking and insurance company SNS Reaal has reported a third quarter profit of 26 million euros. Gains were made in both the banking and the insurance branches. Analysts say the favourable development is partly due to rising share prices.

The financial company suffered losses in the first six months of 2009 and received 705 million euros in government support. SNS Reaal announced it will pay back 250 million shortly.
