The traditional funfair attraction of dodgem cars is at risk of disappearing from the Netherlands, according to the Dutch National Association of Funfair Enterpreneurs.
The attraction is often associated with trouble caused by teenagers. The southern city of Maastricht was one of the first to ban the rink with electrically-driven bumper cars, and the city of Den Bosch is following suit. Talking to daily de Volkskrant, the funfair umbrella group said it fears an avalanche of dodgem bans, arguing that it is up to local authorities to solve the problem of rowdy youths.
The Maastricht and Den Bosch councils defend the bans by saying that the dodgem cars spark insupportable teenage misbehaviour, and banning the attraction would make funfairs more family-friendly.

This is too bad. I used to enjoy bumper cars ever since I was a child. Apparently they have they own risks, yet fortunately nothing bad has happened to me on such case. I guess though there are many other youth activities that should be banned. This is by far the most risky factor for them developing a violent destructive behavior. This is just for fun. When you grow older and buy your own car, you act responsibly and sign for a car insurance ireland, since that`s not a bumper car anymore, but a real one. I don`t agree the authorities` decision entirely. This isn`t that big of a risk.
