Dutch drug smuggler arrested in Peru

Published on 14 March 2010 - 8:01pm
More about:

A 51-year-old Dutch man has been arrested at Lima airport in Peru. He was attempting to smuggle eight kilos of cocaine out of the country.

The man is just one of the hundreds of drug smugglers arrested each year in the South American country which is, after Colombia, the world's largest producer of cocaine. The country's jails currently house more than 100 Dutch prisoners.

Spain and the Netherlands are the most popular destinations for drug smugglers leaving the country.

Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And when you look long into an abyss, the abyss also looks into you.
