So far, the joint Dutch aid organisations have received 6.5 million euros for emergency aid to the victims of the Haitian earthquake.

The Dutch government has pledged to double the amount, which brings the current total to 13 million euros. All television channels are broadcasting messages in which celebrities call on the Dutch people to make donations to a special Giro bank account number. On Tuesday evening, people can call or chat with the directors and other officials of the aid organisations involved who will answer questions on the relief action for Haiti.
