The Shanghai World Expo, which opens on 1 May 2010, will include a Dutch cultural centre as an addition to the Dutch pavilion.
For six months, the centre will feature free exhibitions and performances by Dutch artists, dancers, musicians and actors as well as Dutch literature, films and games. The centre is located in a factory hall dating back to the 1940s. The building has been transformed into a 400-square-metre exhibition space and a theatre which can seat 300. One hundred and eighty-nine countries will take part in the Shanghai World Expo, the largest ever.
