Dutch university students have spoken... and they say Holland's worst universities are the Delft University of Technology, the University of Amsterdam (UvA), and VU University Amsterdam.
The Keuzegids, a sort of annual consumer guide for students, by students, published the findings today based largely on a student survey..
A spokeswoman for the VU Amsterdam said, while they understand the source of some student complaints - a lack of housing, fo example - many students choose the university and that can't be discounted. A UvA spokesperson pointed out that the guide is a "commercial product" but admitted that "there is work to be done."
Wageningen University topped the list for the sixth year running, maily due to its small scale and the personal attention paid to students. Leiden, Nijmegen, and Utrecht Universities also scored high on the list.

Regarding accommodation, student assistance and administration, the university of Groningen is definitely the worst. You never know if you are enrolled or simply paid in the end of the month...
"I disagree with this article in that it suggests that the university's appeal lies in peripheral matters such as housing", I could agree more with this.
Put Leiden also in the list and you got right on point.
Though I cannot speak for the other universities, as a student at VU University Amsterdam I disagree with this article in that it suggests that the university's appeal lies in peripheral matters such as housing. Furthermore, it fails to recognize that there are several faculties, distinct in method and quality. To me, the Faculty of Arts at the VU, for example, is one of the best, with great and inspiring professors who give all the personal attention needed. In other words, this very general outcome of the student survey and the way it is presented here, together paint a condemning and ambiguous picture of the before mentioned universities: are they worst in quality of education, everything else, or both?
