De Telegraaf ends Sunday edition

Published on 9 October 2009 - 11:03am
More about:

The mass circulation Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf has decided to stop its Sunday edition.

In the Netherlands, Sunday papers are a novelty. Most Dutch newspapers publish extra supplements in their Saturday editions. De Telegraaf started publishing its Sunday paper five years ago.

The paper's editor-in-chief Sjuul Paradijs laments, "We've lost that unique Sunday moment. It can never be replaced."

However, falling advertising revenue as a result of the economic crisis has meant the experiment will stop at the end of the year.
