Copenhagen Greenpeace activists released

Published on 6 January 2010 - 9:22pm
More about:

Danish police have released four Greenpeace activists who managed to get close to national leaders at a state banquet during the Copenhagen climate conference.

They unfurled a banner criticising the weak accord agreed at Copenhagen but were immediately arrested for breaching security. The four activists, all from different countries, have spent three weeks in custody. They may have to appear in court at a later date and could face jail terms.
