A Jordanian double agent who blew himself up in Afghanistan killing six CIA agents and his Jordanian handler said in a video message he was taking revenge for the death of an al-Qaeda leader.
Humam al-Balawin taped the message, broadcast on Al-Jazeera television, shortly before his suicide attack. He said the bombing was in retaliation for the death of Baitullah Messud, who was killed in a US attack in August. Mr Balawi pretended to be a Taliban informant for Western and Jordanian secret services but in fact passed information on to the Taliban. The video shows him accompanied by Pakistan's Taliban leader Hakimullah Mehsud.
