Chirac to stand trial

Former French President Jacques Chirac is to stand trial on corruption charges.

He is accused of providing bogus jobs to political associates and their relatives during his tenure as Paris mayor. Nine of his former aides are also to stand trial. Jacques Chirac, who was the mayor of Paris from 1977 until 1995, is the first former French head of state to be put on trial. His assistants say Mr Chirac is determined to prove his innocence.

"Former French President Jacques Chirac is to stand trial on corruption charges.".......Chirac was corrupt as a mayor and as president of France. His greed didn't stop as mayor of Paris.
