Chinese warned about Mexican flu

Published on 11 September 2009 - 9:44am
More about:

China's health ministry is warning that tens of millions of the population will become infected with Mexican flu in the near future. A ministry official said deaths would be unavoidable. So far, there are no reports of Mexican flu fatalities in China.

The ministry says most Chinese who caught Mexican flu in the period from June to August were infected abroad. However, 95 percent of the 7000 people who have come down with the flu in the last few weeks were infected in China itself.
