The Chinese authorities are planning to vaccinate some 12,700 Muslims who will be making he annual hajj to Mecca in Saudi Arabia next month against the Mexican flu. A team of doctors will accompany the pilgrims, who will also receive free medicines and disposable masks.
China has recorded more than 23,700 cases of A(H1N1) so far. Saudi Arabia is expecting around three million pilgrims during this year's hajj.
