The Chinese government has issued an angry response to US criticism of its internet policies.
Last week, US internet giant Google announced plans to pull out of China due to the restrictions placed on its operations by the authorities and recent attempts to hack into e-mail accounts.
On Thursday, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton expressed concern about China's attitude to internet freedom. Beijing has hit back, condemning Washington for making "groundless accusations" that "run contrary to the facts".
