Published on 5 January 2010 - 6:19pm
More about:

A well-known Bulgarian journalist who recently published a book about organised crime in Bulgaria has been killed. Bobi Tsankov, 30, was shot dead in central Sofia in broad daylight.

Two bodyguards were injured. The radio presenter had publicly revealed his connections with alleged crime bosses, including Konstantin Dimitrov, who was assassinated in Amsterdam in 2003. In 2006, Mr Tsankov was injured by a bomb outside his home. He had survived two attempts on his life in 2003 and 2004.
