Monday's heavy snowfall in Bulgaria and Romania is still causing problems. Some of the dozens of roads which were closed on Monday have been reopened, but tyre-chains are compulsory.

Bulgaria's most important west-east motorway, to Burgas on the Black Sea, was one of the major roads reopened on Tuesday morning. Train and air traffic has been getting back to normal. However, more heavy snow is being forecast for the next few days.
