Manchester United player Edwin van der Sar will miss the start of the English football season. The Dutch goalkeeper has broken a bone in a finger of his left hand.
He sustained the injury last week saving a penalty by former Heerenveen player Danijel Pranjic, during the final of the Audi Cup against Bayern Munich. Van der Sar has had surgery on the broken finger and will be out of action for at least eight weeks.
