Brazil has returned to the number one spot in FIFA's ranking of football national teams. The Brazilian team jumped four places after winning the Confederations Cup in South Africa last Sunday.
Brazil's victory knocked European champions Spain from the top spot. The Spanish team slipped down to second place and the Dutch team also dropped down one place and is now ranked third. Italy, the current world champions, is ranked fourth and Germany is ranked fifth. The rankings are based on performances over the last four years.
