Brazil is extraditing a former Uruguayan army officer to Argentina, where he will face trial for the disappearance of a left-wing Argentine in the 1970s.
Manuel Cordero (71) worked for the Uruguayan secret service and allegedly took part in Operation Condor.
During the operation, right-wing leaders in Latin America cooperated to remove left-wing opponents.
Mr Cordero was to be handed over to the Argentinian authorities earlier this week, but the hand-over was postponed due to his poor health.
After a medical examination, the go-ahead was given on Saturday. Uruguay had also requested his extradition.
