A bomb attack in the Colombia port Buenaventura has cost at least five people their lives. The attack took place in the centre close to the offices of the mayor and the public prosecution service; considerable damage has been caused.
The attack was carried out just before a visit of presidential candidate Juan Manuel Santos had been planned. No responsibility has yet been claimed. The army says the attack is the work of the Marxist rebel movement FARC. However, the remnants of paramilitary groups and Colombian drugs cartels are also active Buenaventura.
